Job Description
A Laboratory Technician Grade II performs laboratory tests and assists medical professionals in the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases. The role involves collecting and processing clinical samples, operating laboratory equipment, maintaining accurate records, and following laboratory safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and receive blood, urine, and other clinical samples.
- Perform routine laboratory tests as instructed by medical officers.
- Prepare and process samples for testing.
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Prepare reagents and other materials required for laboratory testing.
- Record and maintain accurate laboratory test results.
- Follow proper procedures for handling and storing biological samples.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the laboratory.
- Follow infection-control and laboratory safety procedures.
- Perform quality-control checks on laboratory tests and equipment.
- Report abnormal or critical findings to the concerned medical personnel.
- Maintain laboratory registers, reports, and other official records.
- Assist doctors and other healthcare professionals when required.
